Teacher training gives us moments of reconsidering what is important for us, what we have done with our lives so far, and what we really want to achieve. No matter if that’s something simple as reading a book o eating healthier.
Looking at your life from a distance allows us to make conscious decisions about our lifestyle or the way we are living now. Sometimes, it can feel that we spend a large part of our time at work. Therefore, we must think and realize what kind of work makes us happy. The fact that we have decided to do Yoga teacher training means that we already dare to make profound changes.
Make lifestyle changes
As a result of the highly structured program, we are trained to follow a daily routine. We get up at fixed times and go to bed early. The food we try to eat is healthier and more nutritious. And of course, we practice yoga asanas every day.
Staying in this lifestyle for a whole month is very powerful for developing new habits. Also, there is little room for distraction. Finally, this also helps us break old and unnecessary habits. We just can’t drink coffee every day, take our phones all the time, or sleep too late or too long. And that’s such a liberating experience, we’re probably keeping it at home or at least trying to.
Another positive effect of living this type of life is that we can get back to basics. Life with yoga is simpler and more disciplined. We promise life can be simpler if we do the homework of seeking that.
Sleeping in a simple room, eating the food provided, without an internet connection. In other words: there is nothing more than what you need. Simplifying your daily life is a powerful way to practice contentment: being happy with what you have, without wanting more all the time. This can be a major change in your life experience after teacher training.
Even if there isn’t a huge difference in what you do, there will be a fundamental change in the way you experience, think, and act.
