Is Costa Rica an island?
Well, that´s a common question tourists make before traveling to Costa Rica, it sounds like it were an island, but that’s far from the reality… and there are some movies that don´t help to make that clear…
So many people think it is an island, but Costa Rica is a sovereign country respectful of human rights and values, without an army and focused on keeping working on education and health.
Costa Rica is located in Central America, it´s the tiny “waist” of America, it´s a very small country with plenty of natural biodiversity, stunning g volcanoes, rainforests, and more than 600 beaches.
It is bordered by Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south and east.
The Pacific Ocean borders the western and southern parts of Costa Rica, and the Caribbean Sea borders Costa Rica on the east.
In addition, when traveling to Costa Rica, you also find one of the blue zones of the world, which is Nicoya, people live longer and happier here thanks to their habits, diet, and attitude.
Finally, Costa Rica’s main economic activity is tourism, that´s why big efforts are made every day to improve this area.
So you can feel confident traveling to Costa Rica.
