Costa Rica Surf camp
Im from Germany and I was looking a surf camp or Surf School in Costa Rica. Why Costa Rica? Because last time I went to Surf camp in Portugal and it was great but this time I was looking for clean waves and warm water! And Costa Rica offer you that and more….
I have to said that I though my surfing level was intermediate, or its what I believe upsss…hehe. A soon as I get my frst wave in Costa Rica I realize that I was a beginner surfer.
But this is a normal thing between the beginner surfers. We want to use a smaller surf boards asap and we forgot that the important is to be more time on the surfboard and not into the water 😉
Learn to surf is a proces and we should chose the right surf school and do everything step by step.
Surf camps, Surf Schools, Surf academy….you can find a lot arround the world. And I do not will give you advices about to attend to an especific Surf program, but I will give you some tips to chosse the right one.
Most of the Surf schools around the world they have just one teacher and lot of students. SO if you chosse a surf camp be sure that they will teach max one surf instructor with 2 students. So dont let them put one surf teacher with 5 or more surf students. It happened to me before in another surf camps and its not nice…What you should learn in one class some surf camps takes 1 week. In Costa Rica you will find the best surf camps and surf school.
You can try to combine your Surf holidays with another activities like Spanish lessons, Yoga lessons or music programs! Waves in Costa Rica are amazing during the morning and late afternoon but from 11am to 4pm its good to have another option. Study Spanish in paradise is one of them. If your idea is surfing in around central america some knowledge about Spanish is always welcome! More if you would like to be welcome like a local in the line up!
Surf camp with breakfast included is a good option as well. Lunch and dinner you will want to go out to explore theCosta Rican food!
Try to choose a Surf school where you can wake up and see the waves! Its really important to be really closeto the break! So you never miss the good conditions. Lot of surf camps in the world are located away from the beach and they offer transportation. This means that you will depend from the shuttle schedule and you can not surf by you own
SO at the end I want tos ay that Costa Rica is amazing for a surf adventure! Its full of Surf school and surfcamps fpr begginers, intermédiate and advance surfers!
Y last advise! Leave your office, buy a ticket and surf Costa Rica!
