It’s backed by a clear cut, flat grassy plain, pasture, rice paddies, and wetlands.
It looks golden and tan in the dry season and a little lime green during the rainy season.

Wildlife, Beautiful and Exotic
Nature here is accessible and unequaled, even after all these years Costa Rica is still known as The eco-destination.
You´ll see tons of monkeys, sea turtles, humpback whales off the coast, colorful Scarlet Macaws in the almond trees, feathered friends of all kinds, and if you’re lucky – you might even spot a puma or margay on the trail.
In the jungles or at the beach, you’ll find huge flocks of scarlet macaws.
They are commonly seen eating along with the beach almond trees, which cover all the entire length of the refuge.
Some Cattle egrets, wood storks, white ibis, great egrets, roseate spoonbills, and snowy egrets all share the shrinking lagoon during the dry season.
Little Fauna
Costa Rica wildlife is often of the smaller with a vast variety such as snakes, poisonous frogs, spiders, and more.
Some are gorgeous and colorful, harmless and interesting to see up close.
For example; stick bugs that look like very small tree twigs.
The Green Hooded Mantis which is so wild and other-worldly with a super-wide coat of green armor.
Some are a little dangerous like the brown and black scorpion, which will let you have it with a nasty sting if you step on them, and the poisonous frog.
But, this accident is not so common, it just happens out of the blue if you are not careful.
Coatis which are similar to raccoons are funny foragers belonging to this Eco-Destination, and you’ll find them pretty much everywhere in Costa Rica on the prowl.
You’ll see colorful toucans of all colors and sizes in Costa Rica.
You´ll see them around the fruit trees in La Selva and Monteverde, Carara National Park, the Caribbean coast from Tortuguero down to Puerto Viejo, along the Pacific coast and especially in the Osa Peninsula.
