What is the climate like?

From November to April, there are small waves and mild weather with no rains, making it perfect for beginner to intermediate surfers. In May and June, it can be a bit rainy, but the waves are still good. July, August, and September typically see night rain with sunny days and very good waves suitable for all levels. October is generally very rainy.

Are you close to the beach?

We are located just 200 meters from the best beach for beginner and intermediate surfers. There are 3 cafes and a supermarket all within 100 meters.

What is the age range of participants?

Generally, participants are between 22 and 30 years old, but we welcome guests of all ages. We also love working with families. The only requirement is to have good vibes.

Are meals included?

Breakfast is included from Monday to Saturday, and dinner is provided from Monday to Friday. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available.

Which airport should I fly into?

The airport with the most options to reach Perfect Sunset is San Jose Juan Santa Maria Airport. You can also fly into Liberia, but there is only one transport option from there.

What types of surfboards do you have?

We have surfboards ranging from 6’10” to 9′ for beginners and intermediates. If you are an experienced surfer, we recommend bringing your own board, or we can help you buy or rent one locally.

Can I pay in USD or with a credit card?

Yes, all locations accept USD and credit cards.

How can I travel from San Jose to Perfect sunset

Shuttle – 5:4545am 2:30 from a hotel in San José / usd80 – 6 hours (ferry included) – Book your ticket on Transporzuma (they need minimum 3 persons to organize a shuttle).
Public bus – 6:30am (3pm on Sunday) from terminal 7/10 San José – usd16 – 6 hours (ferry included) – Book your ticket on https://www.laterminalcostarica.com (select destination “Cobano”. In Cobano, there is another bus that goes to Santa Teresa and stops in Playa hermosa 2 blocks from here”); Please check allways the schedule in the website.
Private taxi – flexible pick up time from the airport or a hotel in San José – usd310- 6 hours (ferry included) – ask us directly to book it.
Flight – 6 flights a day from San José to Cobano or Tambor airport- usd150/ high season usd120/low season for the flight – 20 minutes (plus 20 min taxi from Cobano to the school) – Book your ticket on https://booknow.costaricagreenair.com and ask us for a taxi.
