Gustavo, původem z Argentiny, je vášnivý surfař a freediver s hlubokou láskou k oceánu a latinskoamerické kultuře. V roce 2008 otevřel Perfect Sunset School v Kostarice – útočiště přímo u pláže, kde sdílí své vášně a nabízí hostům jedinečný životní zážitek.

Naše učitelka španělštiny se postará o to, abyste odtud odjížděli s více než jen „hola, qué tal?“. Je jako slunce, velmi přátelská a nesmírně trpělivá. Narodila se a vyrostla v Kostarice, žije v Cóbano, nedaleko Santa Teresy.
Miluje učit lidi životnímu stylu Pura Vida.

Sonia je náš anděl v kuchyni! Po dlouhé surfové lekci není nic lepšího než velký talíř chutného jídla – a Sonia se postará o to, abyste ho dostali.
Je velmi milá, upřímná a respektující osoba. Vždy má na tváři úsměv a ráda si s vámi popovídá španělsky.

Připraveni na divočinu? Nemusíte to dělat sami – stačí se podívat, jak naše Iris loví pavouky, můry a gekony kolem areálu. Zbytek času ji najdete u baru, kde si užívá svou Pura Vida mentalitu. Můžete ji přijít pohladit, ale připravte se i na trochu hry.

Guaity

Je čas poznat toho nejpohodovějšího a nejsvobodnějšího psa, jakého jste kdy potkali! Seznamte se s Guaitym! Je duchem našeho hostelu a učí vás životnímu stylu Pura Vida. Doprovází vás na procházkách po pláži a vítá vás, když dorazíte. Je velmi přátelský a klidný, takže se tu budete cítit ještě více jako doma.

Read More communal area and yoga platform. It’s 30 seconds from the beach and just lovely. Everyone working there were incredible, so friendly and lovely and there to help with anything you needed. The surf lessons and instructors were the best as was Hilda and the Spanish classes, I finally feel like my surfing and Spanish has actually improved. Read More you'll spot a bunch of animal without even moving. Plenty of space for stretching, relaxing in teh refreshing pool.. The ocean is just accros the street. You'll find some awesome tide pool to snorkle or just swimm around. It's a perfect spot to watch sunset. The beach break is a bit further (15 minutes walk) but the walk on the beach is nice and Risa and Whity (the two dogs) will gladely keep you compagny. The food is delicious and there is plenty enough to fill you after a big day of surfing and exploring. Juan, one of the surf teacher is fun and laid back. He'll make jokes while keeping you safe in the water. He is patient and will teach you trick to improve rappidly your surfing. Pipi the other surf teacher is like a gentle giant. He's sweet and really car about you having a good time in the wate and reaching your goals, he's ready to spend the time with you and correct your surfing if necessary.

					Perfect sunset school ligger rett ved stranden, hyggelig personale, bredt tilbud av aktiviteter som spansk, surf, freediving og yoga. Maten er veldig god, god standard. Anbefales!

					I had the best time at perfect sunset! I went to learn Spanish but you can easily add on surfing and yoga. The place is so relaxing all I wanted... Read More to do was chill by the beach. The lessons are really good I am basic level so I started with just 1 to 1 classes everyday and feel much more confident. The rooms are cosy my bed was really comfy I didn’t want to leave. The food is good you get breakfast everyday and evening meal mon- Friday. We hired quad bikes from a local company great way to get around and see the rest of the local towns. The sunsets are seriously amazing the best I have ever seen we went down to watch/ surf everyday - thankyou to everyone who made it so special I never wanted to leave.

And only 15 minute walk from a pretty good surf spot. Also the freedive course was really great to take, already helped me out quite a bit, being smashed by a giant wave while surfing playa Hermosa in Jaco.

					Staying at perfect sunset has been one of my top traveling experiences ever (I’ve traveled lots!). The staff are so helpful and kind, the food is great, the Spanish teachers... Read More are wonderful and the surf instructors are also incredible!! The beds are super comfy and the rooms have AC which is so appreciated after a long day in the Costa Rican heat. I instantly felt like I was home when I arrived there. I wish I could relive my week with them over and over again. I couldn’t recommend them enough! Gracias por todo Perfect Sunset💙

V roce 2009 otevřel Gustavo Perfect Sunset School – místo, které vytvořil tak, aby bylo jedinečné a nezaměnitelné. Zde najdete nejen někoho, kdo vás provede učením španělštiny a surfováním, ale také přítele a vstupní bránu do latinské kultury tak, jak má být opravdu prožita. Budete se cítit jako doma, poznáte nové lidi, objevíte krásnou přírodu, dozvíte se více o kultuře a o tom, jak si Kostaričané užívají PURA VIDA!

Naše škola španělštiny a surfový kemp se nachází přímo u pláže a je obklopená přírodní rezervací. Máme jedinečnou polohu, která nám poskytuje soukromí a ten nejlepší výhled na oceán.

Perfect Sunset School není průmyslový surfový kemp. Tady změníte svůj pohled na život. Náš surfový kemp a škola španělštiny jsou známé skvělým ubytováním a úžasnými zážitky, ale především má tým Perfect Sunset School jeden hlavní cíl: s nadšením sdílet naši lásku a znalosti o kostarické kultuře, španělském jazyce a surfování!

We loved our stay at Perfect Sunset School My 10 year old daughter and I spent two weeks at Perfect Sunset School in Playa Hermosa, and we would do it again in a minute! Gustavo and his family made us feel genuinely welcome (without ever being overbearing) from the first day. Gustavo cooks delicious meals and pointed us to things we never would have found on our own. The beach is a short walk down a nature path. Playa Hermosa is peaceful, uncrowded, and truly beautiful. We both learned to surf here as the waves are very friendly for beginners. We so enjoyed our surf instructors. Our Spanish moved forward more in two weeks than it had in months of practice at home, in large part because our tutor prepped custom lessons for our levels and kept my daughter engaged throughout. The routine of surf, Spanish, beach, repeat was a wonderful reset for both of us. A few practical notes: there is a great cafe right next door where we ate breakfast and lunch most days, and a small market and other cafes are just steps beyond that. Renting an ATV was easy and a lot of fun, and it made a run over to Santa Teresa for restaurants and the beach there simple. We hope to come back!

An unforgettable experience only with good vibes. I had an amazing experience at this surf school for over a month. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and supportive, and I truly felt like part of the team. Gustavo, the owner, is such a kind and welcoming person and contributes so much to the warm, family-like vibe of the place. I’m very grateful for the experience, the people I met, and all the memories I made. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a great surf experience, Spanish lessons, and a warm, family-like community!

Lovely, and relaxed stay at Perfect Sunset School I had a great time at the Perfect Sunset School! When i arrived I was made to feel at home by Gus and his family/friends, and they made sure to invite me for events they were attending. I booked a one week Spanish school program and my teacher Jonni was very knowledgeable and kind. And you can also ask for specific things you would like to learn in your week there. So I would recommend the Spanish school to everyone, since every level of Spanish is possible. ✨ Apprendí mucho in solo una semana y de hecho estoy muy orgulloso de eso! Furthermore, I booked one surfing lesson which I really enjoyed. The teachers take their time and explain the basics well, just so that I was able to catch a few waves in just one lesson (As a total beginner)! For the remainder if the week I was also able to loan a surfboard to try out surfing some more for myself The rooms are held clean, a towel was provided and the kitchen held many utensils so I was also able to cook nice lunches. And the included breakfast was muy rico! Fue muy divertido! Thanks again! ❤️

Perfect stay at Perfect Sunset :) I had an amazing 10 day stay at Perfect Sunset! Playa Hermosa is a special town with beautiful nature and incredibly kind people- especially our host Gustavo and his wife Teresa. I enjoyed the routine of waking up early to the sounds of howler monkeys and birds, going to morning surf lessons, and having the best breakfast afterwards at the cafe next door. I also took spanish classes with an awesome teacher, Edgar, who made learning both engaging and fun. On week nights, Gustavo cooked incredible dinners and all the house guests ate together, which created a warm sense of community. By the end of my stay, Playa Hermosa and Perfect Sunset School felt like a home away from home. I was sad to leave! If you want to meet wonderful people and have a great adventure I’d enthusiastically recommend booking a stay at Perfect Sunset! :) Highlights of my stay: - Gustavo’s breath holding classes! We learned breathing techniques that are not only useful for breath holding but also applicable in everyday life. I was amazed at how I could overcome physical discomfort by remaining mentally calm. Our bodies are amazing! Gustavo’s passion for free diving and teaching was very cool to experience. - The feeling of dropping in and catching my first green wave (thanks to the help of the awesome surf instructors Andres and Moises!) - The food!!! Every meal was 10/10 Recommendations: Consider renting a car if you want to explore surrounding areas. You are walking distance to the beach, grocery store, and restaurants/ coffee shops, but need a vehicle to get to Santa Teresa or other parts of the peninsula. You can also rent an ATV or a bike! Also, it’s the jungle so bring lots of bug spray! But mostly I recommend to just book the trip!! You won’t regret it :)

More Than a Surf Camp – Come for the Waves, Stay for the People I had an absolutely amazing time at Perfect Sunset School! The surf camp is located just a short walk from the beautiful Playa Hermosa beach break, which is perfect for both beginners learning to surf and more advanced surfers looking to improve their skills. One of my absolute highlights was the breath-holding class, which I loved so much that I joined twice! It was such a unique and empowering experience. The surf lessons with Moises and Andres were equally amazing — professional, motivating, and always filled with fun and positive energy. Anyways, what truly makes this place special are the people. The camp has such a warm, familiar atmosphere that makes it so much more than just a surf camp — it feels like home. Gustavo is an exceptional host who genuinely cares about every guest and always makes sure everyone is having a great time and feels comfortable. I can highly recommend this camp to anyone looking for an unforgettable surf experience, great people, and an authentic, relaxed atmosphere. I already hope to come back again soon! Thank you so much for this unforgettable time :)

Simply Perfect! Gus and Sam were perfect hosts, welcoming and relaxed, we instantly felt at home. To add, the other guests made the stay special - like having an extended family for the week. Expect to wake up for sunrise, enjoy one of Sams home brew coffees and then get started for surfing, Spanish, yoga and more - all of which were thought out and individual to ability. Next, breakfast in the cafe (included) was an easy win and typically followed by a nap, with various spots available to get your noggin down. Playa hermosa is a short walk away and presents that sunset you see on everyone’s socials, without fail. Don’t expect any bars on the beach, public facilities or trash cans. It’s about as good as it gets, just people and a beach. To top it all off, the dinners we had back at the gaff were a surprise. My complements to the chef, who rustled up something fresh and new daily. A few chats, beers and some cards around the table ends the day. Serene. Thanks Perfect Sunset for the stay, I do hope I can come back soon.

Will definitely come back another time I stayed in perfect sunset for one week to improve my Spanish and enjoy the beach and sea. I loved the vibe and hospitality of the place. Everyone gets up early in the morning to go surfing, running, freediving and breakfast is served at a cute cafe next door. My Spanish lessons were super fun and helpful and they made my Spanish improve a lot. The surroundings are beautiful and there’s bikes you can borrow to go neighbouring towns. At night a meal is cooked and everyone eats together, making it a very social place. The owner, gus, is super friendly, hospitable, easygoing and helpful. I would definitely recommend the place and would like to go back myself another time
