The Best Complementary Workouts for Surfers

Surfing is the greatest thing in life, it is not only exciting but it is also a great way to make new friends.

You can feel all the benefits you get from surfing at the same time you meet the best and nicest people ever.

Once you have found the best surf spot ever, you can start.

You improve all your physical condition, just by the fact of paddling against strong waves you make a tremendous workout.

And as the perfect workout, your cardiovascular system also starts working hard.

When you practice surfing you train your body to the point of being out of breathing over time this lowers your blood pressure as well.

You will also rest heart rate while decreasing your risk of heart attacks, stroke, and other diseases.

You work out every muscle of your body, at the same time you will see how around 30- 60 minutes of surfing will burn as many as 130 to 260 calories.

It’s awesome!

Join the Surfers Community

Surfers keep looking forward to the best surf spot, it is where you will find them.

They create a community and share making new friends in their surf spot.

Something important you should know before you start looking for making new friends at a surf spot is to identify and apply surf etiquette.

It means that you should always be nice, humble, respectful, and full of nice vibes.

They feel it and they know it…

How to start?

Well, it is pretty simple but you might feel it challenging.

Just by simply saying “hello” you can start a great conversation, then if you have never been to this place, you can make a comment about how nice it is and how beautiful it looks.

One good thing about it is that those local surfers will start giving you tips and relevant information about the waves, the weather, and the geography of the zone.

A great surf spot will also have plenty of places to relax (you know…), eat, listen to music and learn more.

Surfing Etiquette at the surf spot

It sounds a little fancy, or you feel like that´s the opposite of being relaxed, but this etiquette is not a  big deal.

You will see that most of the rules will help you to make new friends and enjoy this wonderful world:

  • Remember that the furthest out surfer will always get the priority.
  • Be careful with your board, you are not the only one in the water.
  • Learn to Communicate your next movement, if you don´t know how to do it, just ask.
  • They respect the right of way, so just give them the chance.
  • Try not to drop in, this is not so nice.
  • Avoid snaking nearby others
  • Don’t paddle over the lineup.
  • Never dive headfirst.
  • And the most important, remember to take care but mainly respect the beach and ocean.

It doesn’t matter how expert you are you should always be paying attention.
